Eating Chili in Chilly Chile

Today, I am going to do an art gallery. Right now, we are residing within Valparaiso, a seaside city in Chile (South America.) This city is known as the city of street art, and it lives up to its name. Almost everywhere we go, there is huge, intricate paintings plastered over the walls, combating what would have otherwise been a nonappealing and boring concrete or tin surface covered with scrawled tagging. I have chosen a few of my favorites to show you what it looks like (spoiler: beautiful and original). Enjoy!

OSCAR'S VALPARAISO STREET ART GALLERY [BY OSCAR]

The thing I liked about this was her expression. It reminded me of Shuri from the movie Black Panther. It has the same sort of mischevious expression, like she's trying really hard not to tell a secret.

This one was deep and sad. The image isn't very good defintion, and there's some ugly tagging on the left side, so it's about two chained-up boys doing rock paper scissors to see who gets the already-bitten apple. Behind them is a world gone wrong, scattered and rickety buildings, and two jet fighters bombing whatever remains have survived. An interesting note is that the silhouette of the apple is actually the Apple logo. This could have another meaning that I haven't deciphered yet.

Maybe it's because I just played Monument Valley 2, but this spoke to me. It's not street art, actually it's a postcard in a shop we went to. Something about it reminded me of the game Monument Valley, and it was pretty good art, so why not.

I saw this one and took its photo because it's actually from a parody of Calvin and Hobbes in Star Wars version. Check it out - it's pretty good. There's also Hobbes and Bacon. Anyway, this one was funny to see.

The Piano Staircase. This is from the bottom, but tilt your screen to the left to see the full thing like it's supposed to be. I made piano noises as I went down.

And that's it! We didn't take a lot of photos of street art, mostly because there was too much! I might post a Part II, but only maybe.

See ya later!
